From October 1 to 16, couples on iFeely walked 1,200,356 steps together. That's about 915 km (568 miles), farther than Paris to Berlin as the crow flies.

The Numbers

StepsDistance
All couples together1,200,356≈ 915 km / 568 miles
The average couple75,022≈ 57 km / 35.5 miles

What That Looks Like

  • Paris to Berlin. It's about 880 km in a straight line, and our couples walked 915 km. By road it's about 1,050 km, so basically there.
  • 10,000 football fields. An American football field is 100 yards, about 120 steps. 1.2 million steps covers roughly 10,000 of them.
  • 1.35 marathons per couple. The average couple walked 57 km together in 16 days.
  • 26,800 bald eagles. Lined up wingtip to wingtip (about 7 ft each), that's how long the average couple's 35.5 miles would be.

What Is Step Battle?

Step Battle is iFeely's friendly daily step competition for two. It reads your steps from Apple Health, so there's nothing to log. Whoever walks more wins the day and takes the crown. The next day, you defend it. Loser buys dinner is optional, but highly recommended.

It works just as well long distance. Each phone counts its own steps, so you can battle from different cities, or different countries.

How to Start a Step Challenge with Your Partner

  • Battle daily, not monthly. A new winner every day keeps it fun. A month-long race is over once one of you pulls ahead.
  • Set small stakes. The loser picks the movie, sends a voice note, or plans the next date.
  • Walk "together" on a call. Go for a walk at the same time and talk the whole way. It counts twice: steps and time together.
  • Team up sometimes. Add your steps together and try to walk the distance between your two cities. At 0.762 m per step, every 1,000 km is about 1.3 million steps.

How We Counted

Data from October 1 to 16, 2026. "Together" means both partners' steps added up for the same day. Distances use an average step length of 0.762 m (2.5 ft), so real distances vary with height and stride.
